MEDIEVAL AND RENAISSANCE ART
Our Medieval and Renaissance Art department , directed by Sandrine Crochat, helped by our expert Christian Raud organized sevaral sales in 2006 in partnership with the Furniture and Works of art of the 17th, 18th and 19th century department. Foreign buyers, notably the Italians, Portuguese and South Americans carry on supporting the French market of the Medieval and Renaissance Art in 2006.

Oval tabacco case set with painted enamels. Composed of three curved plates, decorated with mythological scenes set with painted enamels and golden touch-ups on the top and the inside of the case. Work of Nicolas Laudin the first (1628-1698), golden "NL" monogram on the top.

13th century. Rectangular box with five black or yellowish-brown ink cercles. Animals and birds as a pattern. Light colored amber ivory.
Crack and slighty erased patterns.

Golden bronze Christ on a rock crystal cross and an ox-eye base. This very singular but also very moving Christ reminds the Jean de Bologne Christ, whose style was very influent during the 17th century. The Christ is on a rock crystal cross which tips are cut in the shape of lily flowers .At the bottom of the cross, Marie- Magdalene, in a blue ox-eye block, kneeling, hugs the pole looking up at the Christ in a tragic pose.
