Among the highlights of our upcoming Fine Wines & Spirits auction on June 17 at 2 pm., an exceptional selection of wines from the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is sure to capture the attention of both connoisseurs and the most discerning collectors. A true embodiment of Burgundian excellence, the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti has held a singular place in the world of wine for decades. Its productions, drawn from some of the most prestigious terroirs of the Côte de Nuits, are now among the most sought-after bottles on the international market.

The selection presented in this sale offers a remarkable journey through several of the domaine’s emblematic grands crus, ranging from mature vintages of the early 1990s to the highly sought-after contemporary allocations from the 2021 vintage. Among the historic wines on offer are four bottles of Grands-Échezeaux 1989, a солне and generous vintage, as well as three bottles of Romanée-Saint-Vivant 1990, a year unanimously praised for the exceptional balance of its wines. One bottle of La Tâche 1991 and one bottle of Grands-Échezeaux 1992 complete this ensemble of great classics from a period particularly prized by lovers of mature Burgundy.

Yet the centerpiece of this selection is undoubtedly Lot 172: an original case of twelve bottles of La Tâche 1993, preserved with its original metal strapping intact. A historic monopoly of the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti since 1933, La Tâche is widely regarded as the most spectacular and complete expression of Burgundian Pinot Noir. Produced from just over six hectares, this cuvée combines depth, power, aromatic refinement, and exceptional ageing potential. The 1993 vintage holds a singular place in the domaine’s recent history. Following a contrasting summer, the harvest gave rise to wines of great structure, marked by remarkable freshness and a depth that is now fully revealed after more than thirty years of evolution.

Finally, the sale will also feature four bottles from the highly sought-after 2021 vintage: Échezeaux, Grands-Échezeaux, Richebourg, and Romanée-Saint-Vivant. These bottles bear witness to the exceptional continuity of quality that has defined the reputation of the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti for several generations.
