Tajan’s auction house will cloture on the 28th and 29th of June, its fifteen prestige sales with two important vacations around major artists of the 20th century art.
Sculptures, paintings and drawings will be spread in two phases: a sale of Impressionist and Modern art on the 28th and a sale of Contemporary art on the 29th of June.
The sale of Modern art, without any doubt one of the most important of the semester at Tajan, will offer an exceptional selection made of works from the principal masters of modern painting. Landscapes signed Renoir, Rousseau and Picasso…L’oiseau et les mariés by Chagall… and above all a sublime and rare fragment of the Nymphéas by Claude Monet (lot 8). Finally all the eyes will be turned towards a magnificent “Baiser” (second reduction) by Auguste Rodin, one of the worlds best-known sculptures, which has already aroused many reactions during its exhibition at the beginning of June at l’Espace Tajan.
The next day, the department of Contemporary art will present a vacation composed of 39 lots, carefully selected to offer an exceptional overview of the works of the important post-war and contemporary artists: Maria Helena Vieira Da Silva, Sam Francis, Hans Hartung, Antoni Tapies, Serge Poliakoff, David Almejd, Pol Bury and César… The exhibition of the works of art which begins on this year’s 24th of June, will also be an opportunity to come admire a rare oil on canvas by Pierre Soulages (lot 11) or trigger new artistic favorites as for this painted pair of pants by Combas, more accessible but equally surprising (lot 35).
