The triumphant Romanticism of the 19th century is perfectly captured in this floral transformation ornament. It can be adapted to suit the different gowns of its contemporary owner, this magnificent all-diamond ornament, featuring three main aspen-cut flowers, centered by a larger old-cut diamond, and delicate flower buds, can be worn as a large traine brooch, a drapery necklace or a superb tiara. The three main flowers can also be worn as hairstyles using three bun pin systems, or as three small brooches to hang from the bodice.

This superb set perfectly reflects the botanical sensibility of the time. Here, nature is celebrated by three large flowers trembling in full bloom, on a branch of foliage and flowers still in bud. Under the Second Empire, flowers were king. This attraction to nature was inherited from Empress EugĂ©nie’s passion for flowers. At the time, women adorned themselves with fresh flowers, which inspired jewelers to create pieces that were often treated naturally, and set with precious stones to magnify the jewel’s brilliance.
