DESIGN - EVENING SALE

Tuesday, 20th May 2008, Espace Tajan

Various eras, styles, prices and materials

Our next auction of Design furniture and objects consists of many remarkable pieces that reflect very much the spectrum of Post-war Interior Design. The Living Tower by Verner Panton or the Silhouette Mirror by Pierre Cardin (which was even on the cover of Time Magazine in 1974), an armchair named Albatros by Danile Quarante and the library Nuage by Charlotte Perriand are just a few examples out of the numerous objects.

The auction presents a selection of important pieces, which are absolutely emblematic for our last decades, like the library BookWorm by Ron Arad (estimate: 13194/17592 $) or one of his famous lamps named Aerial Light from the year 1981, a pair of lanterns by Andr Dubreuil (estimate: 17592/14660 $) or a unique desk by the Design Duo Garouste and Bonetti (58640 /87960 $).

The very rare armchair Sella of Joe Colombo is also going to be auctioned. The Design lover will discover a Piere Fornasetti Paravent and three mirrors by the same designer, as well as a Gaetano Pesce sofa and armchair named La Donna.

The Belgians are represented by their famous designer Ado Chale, who was a celebrated Designer in the 70s. A shiny table, adorned with millions of agate stones is a beautiful example of his design work (estimate: 36650/43980 $).
