A gold and ruby "The linen haired girl" ring by SANDOZ

It represents a woman with long hair, the forehead decorated with a ruby cabochon. Finely chiseled and amati yellow gold setting. Signed GR SANDOZ. Gross weight: 11.43 gr. Ring size: 56. Original box.


Son of the watchmaker and jeweler Gustave Sandoz, he took over the business at the Palais-Royal after the death of his father in 1891, then settled in 1895 at 10 rue Royale. He is known for his association with glass artist Émile Gallé. He used "art nouveau" in his watches and jewelry.
Founder and secretary general of the Society for the encouragement of art and industry (1894-) and secretary general of the French Committee for exhibitions abroad (1895-1924).
He joined SHPIF after the death of his father, Gustave Sandoz.

Fondateur et secrétaire général de la Société d'Encouragement à l'Art et à l'Industrie (1894-) et secrétaire général du Comité français des expositions à l'étranger (1895-1924).
Il adhère à la SHPIF après la mort de son père, Gustave Sandoz.

The buyer may collect purchased lots only after all amounts due to TAJAN have been paid (hammer price plus buyer's premium and any applicable taxes and costs).
In accordance with Article 14 of French Act no. 2000-642 of July 10th 2000,
if the successful bidder fails to pay for an item after the issuance of a formal demand that remains without effect,
Tajan reserves the right to claim the following from the false bidder:
- interest at the statutory rate,
- the reimbursement of the additional costs incurred by reason of his/her
default,
- payment of the sale price or:
- the difference between this price and the resale price if the latter is
lower, as well as the costs incurred in relation with the re-auction.
- the difference between this price and the original false bidder's price
if the latter is lower, as well as the costs incurred by the re-auction.
Tajan also reserves the right to offset any amounts which the false bidder
owes to it.
Tajan reserves the right to ban any bidder who fails to comply with its general
terms and conditions of sale from attending any future auction.
The lots can be released from 29th to 31st July (10am to 7pm) in Monaco and in Paris at TAJAN from tuesday 5th August to Friday 7th August.
The buyer must collect items as soon as possible. TAJAN shall not be bound by any warranty.

For bidder living outside European Union, local import taxes could be asked.

Any property on temporary admission from a country outside the EU, indicated by the symbol f or ff will be cleared through Paris and could not be delivered in Monaco.
