The Hermès "Pavillon de Feu" (Fire Pavilion) set contains a miniature architecture based on that of the famous musical pavilion built in 1739 for the most sumptuous fireworks display of the 18th century, on the occasion of the wedding of Madame Louise-Elisabeth of France and the infant Don Philippe. The designer Michel Duchêne, great-grandson of Achille Duchêne, a landscape architect whose contribution to garden design went hand in hand with his lesser-known role as organizer of the last great festivities of the turn of the century, in particular that of Boni de Castellane.
