A black enamel, diamond, platinum, 18K yellow gold and gilded silver "Envelope" vanity case by Ghiso, circa 1925. Signed Ghiso. French assay mark and Arsène Rebours maker's mark.
Gross weight : 206,64 gr.

THE ELEGANCE OF GHISO
The Maison Ghiso was created by Michel Ghiso, an Italian jeweller who emigrated to Argentina and Buenos Aires at the end of the 19th century where he opened his first store. His two sons joined the business and opened a boutique in Paris, which quickly became very successful, then in New York. Despite a much more limited output than its competitors on Place Vendôme, the jewelry and small objects they offer are refined and in good taste, the vanity case we present bears witness to this.
