Two unique and exceptionnal pear shape diamonds of 7,11 carats and 7,12 carats and 18k white gold earrings mounting.
LFG reports : color D, clarity IF type IIa, no fluorescence.
and color D, clarity IF, type IIb, no fluorescence.
TWO UNIQUE GEMS
For the diamond trade in ancient times the designation Golconde was recognized and satisfactory. Since the chemistry of the twentieth century has taken into account the different chemical types that diamonds can adopt, the type of diamond is a scientific classification method according to the level and type of their chemical impurities.
Each of the two diamonds we present has a type that is found in less than 1% of nature. To the eye one can use the figurative meaning of "water" of these stones, because at the slightest movement the brilliance, the sparkle, the transparency distinguish them from more traditional stones. I would like to emphasize the luck of finding these two stones as a pair in almost identical weights, an additional element of rarity if any were needed. An annexed letter from the Laboratoire Français de Gemmologie underlines the extreme rarity of these two types of diamonds, the type IIa and the type IIb (low boron impurities, found only in blue diamonds) which are exceptionally white and are chemically pure diamonds. Thus, their color, purity and exceptional transparency linked to their large size make them unique gems.
*Diamonds are divided into five types: Type Ia, Type Ib, Type 1aB, Type IIa and Type IIb. Atomic impurities are obviously, it must be hammered out, undetectable to the eye, even with a loue, unlike inclusions. These are the proper terms of gemological analysis.
