From high jewellery to diamonds, from antique pieces to artist jewellery, Tajan reaffirms its position as a leader in the jewellery art market year after year.
The auctions dedicated to jewellery are centered around two major events: one in June with a prestigious summer sale and another in winter, with a prestigious Christmas sale. Our department also organizes auctions throughout the year offering a wide range of vintage, style, and price categories. In our sales, major names in both French and international jewellery such as Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Harry Winston… are featured, offering lovely surprises every year.
Our Jewellery department invites you to explore our auctions and discover the market value of your jewellery.
Our specialists appraise your antique jewellery, modern jewellery, family heirlooms, precious stones, and semi-precious stones, providing valuations aligned with the market value of jewellery at auction. Each piece we include in our auctions undergoes a thorough prior appraisal to guarantee its authenticity and value, holding our experts and the Tajan House accountable.
Victoire Winckler, Head of the Jewellery Department, Alix Ricard, Specialist, and our expert Jean-Norbert Salit (a renowned specialist in René Boivin and Suzanne Belperron, as well as an expert in precious stones, diamonds, and fine pearls) are available every day from Monday to Friday by appointment to appraise and determine the value of your jewellery.
Throughout the year, our teams search for exceptional pieces to include in our auctions:

Finally, we carry out the appraisal of other varied pieces, covering all the forms and styles found in both antique and contemporary jewellery, including earrings in various designs: drops, clips, or studs. Parures, whether trembleuses (with movable elements) or transformable, designed to be adapted for different occasions. A wide range of bracelets, from flexible bands to rigid bangles, including chain bracelets, cuffs, twisted bracelets, as well as charm bracelets and link bracelets. Brooches and pins, from discreet barrettes to more ornamental plaques, not to mention jabot pins or tie pins, which are symbols of period elegance. Our experts also handle the appraisal of signed luxury pieces, including a wide variety of refined objects and display items. Among them are snuff boxes and powder compacts, often adorned with exquisite details. More practical accessories, such as sewing cases, perfume bottles, and opera glasses, are also part of these luxury pieces. We also include pairs of binoculars, belt buckles, letter openers, and pill boxes—objects that may sometimes be utilitarian, but always of great beauty.
Our teams carry out the appraisal of precious stones such as diamonds, rubies, emeralds, and sapphires, but they also appraise semi-precious stones including amethyst, citrine, quartz, aquamarine, garnet, tourmaline, peridot, topaz, spinel, tanzanite, lapis lazuli, turquoise, malachite, jade, onyx…
Fine Pearls – Market Status: Making a strong comeback at auctions, fine pearls are generating significant interest among buyers and collectors. These exceptional creations of nature have achieved remarkable results at Tajan, totaling nearly 2.2 million euros since 2023. Indeed, fine pearl necklaces, including three splendid three-strand necklaces, have brought in 1.8 million euros, while fine pearls mounted in jewellery sold for over 468,000 euros. Competing with the finest gemstones, fine pearls are reaching record prices. A highly coveted object, as subtle as it is nuanced, each fine pearl is unique and selected based on specific characteristics. From the perfection of their surface to the iridescence of their colors, as well as their size and shape, every detail matters when choosing a pearl. The appraisal of pearls follows industry-specific practices and criteria, requiring special expertise and a keen eye. The expert completes their analysis with a report provided by a recognized gemological laboratory. This gives the buyer all the information needed to purchase with confidence.
All the pieces offered in our auctions are expertly appraised with great care, ensuring their authenticity and value. Our specialists are at your disposal to advise you and provide personalized service in the sale and purchase of your jewellery and luxury items.
For over 30 years, our experts have been evaluating the authenticity, provenance, condition, and current market value of each piece and stone (authenticity confirmed by gemological laboratories such as LFG) based on in-depth market knowledge. From this expertise comes the valuation given to each item, guiding both sellers and buyers. The valuation also takes into account the overall condition, the purity of the stones, the rarity, and sometimes even the jeweller’s aura or the item’s historical significance.
We welcome you to estimate and appraise your jewellery, jewellery pieces, high jewellery creations, precious and semi-precious stones from Monday to Friday, from 10am to 6pm, with or without an appointment at 37 rue des Mathurins in Paris.
