Laura de SANTILLANA was born, according to her words in a glass factory.
Paolo Venini’s grand-child, Anna Venini and Ludovico Diaz de Santillana’s daughter, this Venetian was born in the famous Venini factory in Murano. She grew up and learn there, with a real comfort all the plasticity of the glass, all the colored games that bring the pigments and the successive layers. From 1979, she begans exposures with a lot of galleries. Her inventive and virtuous allows her to always be in full activity and to be solicited by galleries from around the world, while her works have joined the collections of international museums for several decades.
On the next 5th of June, during the Design & Architecture auction, we will have the pleasure to disperse ten vases sculpture of the designer. The “Sasso” vases (2008) by Laura de Santillana form elongated rocks, ponctuated with sinking, in multilayered glass of color. Several colors will be available for sale.
