Fine results at Decorative Arts & Design auction
At Tajan’s auction of Decorative Arts & Design on March 19, a rare fire screen by Jean Dunand fetched €150,880*, multiplying its low estimate by 5! Among the sale’s top lots was an exceptional “ménagère” by Jean E. Puiforcat, estimated at €10,000 / €15,000, which fetched €70,848*. An abstract sculpture in stoneware by Elisabeth Joulia seduced collectors and sold for €26,240*. Finally, a magnificent cherry veneered bookcase by Francesco Bonfanti sold for €14,432*.
