It is on the occasion of Junes’ prestigious sales that the department of Wines and Spirits presented a lot of importants private cellars, hiding some of the tresures of the french vineyards.

The sale began with the dispersal of the cellar of a couple managing a shop of the famous Nicolas house from the 1950s to the 1990s. Composed of vintages between 1928 and 1970, this cellar has aroused the interest of old wine lovers. Among Burgundy wines, €1.736 was offered for 1 bottle of Clos de Tart 1947 while the 4 bottles of Musigny, Georgs de Vögué 1970 were sold for €4,092. The Burgundys’ wines provoked important bids, including 6 bottles of Château d’Yquem 1942 sold €5,580, 5 bottles of Château Climens 1947 sold €4,092, 2 bottles of Château Lafite-Rothschild 1951 sold €1,550 and 12 of Château Branaire-Ducru 1959 who found a buyer at €2,728.

The auction continued with wines from La Vallée de la Loire and Languedoc : 29 bottles and 6 magnums from Domaine la Grande des Pères from 2008 to 2014, totaling €4,179 and 24 bottles from Clos Rougeard 2010-2011 (Le Bourg, Les Poyeux, Brézé) for a total of €5,617. The Champagnes’ wines were also in the spotlight, including a series of Dom Perignon 1985-2002 (13 bottles and 1 magnum for a total of €2,207) and a rare Cristal Roederer 2000 vintage 1990 siked €7,440.

The Burgundy vineyards has focused the attention of the bidders on the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. An assortment of 12 bottles of 1996 estimated €25,000 – €30,000 was disputed to €43,400 while the series of 6 bottles of 1998 was sold €22,072. Other great battles have occurred, such as 1 bottle of Clos de Tart 1959 sold €4,340 and 1 bottle of Chambertin Dugat Py 2014 sold €1,426.

The sale ended with the Bordeaux fine wines. The first “grands crus” wines dominated, like Château Haut-Brion, whose 12 bottles of 1990 were sold €8,928, and the 7 bottles of white Haut-Brion 1994, at €3,072. A set of 6 bottles of Château Cheval-Blanc found a buyer at €5,084, the 12 bottles of Château Latour 2006 sold for €8,928 and a bottle of Château Mouton-Rothschild 2000 was sold for €1,661. Finally, the 4 vintage bottles of Petrus 1995 was sold €8,308, 1 magnum from €2,005 to €10,168 and 1 magnum from €2,013 to €5,580.

We conclude with the success of the Prestige and Collection set from Duclot, from 2001 to 2014:

– 2 Prestige boxes of 6 bottles each sold €9,672
