As at each end of the season, Tajan presents from 19-29 June, 2018, a schedule of six prestigious auctions covering a large part of the history of art.

In first, Tuesday 19 June , The Old Master Paintings sale will propose 80 lots from the Italian, French and Dutch schools, including an exceptional Virgin and Child by Apollonio di Giovanni (lot 2), works by Theodore Chassériau (lot 67), Jean-Léon Gérôme (lot 72), Francesco Cairo and Wilem Claesz Heda.

As every summer, the auctions time will include a lot of sales dedicated to jewellery and collectible watches. About the 20-21 June events : a beautiful selection of diamonds and sapphire, with an exceptional Burman sapphire of 8.76 carats (lot 235),  antique and decorative arts jewellery selection, and an important chapter dedicated to René Boivin (from lot 250). Concerning the watches catalogue, vintage lovers will be delighted by this Omega Speedmaster REF. CK 2998-3 (lot 57) and a large selection of Reverso watches circa 1930s (lot 33). The auction will also presents pocket watches, ladies’ watches and wristwatches, including an incredible Audemars Piguet REF. 25798OR only edited to 25 copies (lot 123). The jewels and watches auctions will be inaugurated by a conference of the famous jeweler Franck Mico. These glamourous sales will be followed by the Fashion & Vintage “online only” sale, on Tuesday 26 June, to buy the great classics of leather goods like Hermes, Vuitton or Dior.

On the 27 and 28 June, we invite you to participate at two important sales around the major artists of 20th century art. Sculptures, paintings and drawings will be proposed in two parts : an Impressionist and Modern Art auction on 27 June and a Contemporary Art auction on 28 June.

The Modern Art and the painters of Montmartre, like Bernard Buffet invade Tajan: Come to discover a selection of important paintings by Henri Le Sidaner, Felix Valloton, Edgar Degas, Georges Rouault, Fernand Léger, Joan Miro… A beautiful set of several paintings by Henry Valensi (lot 32) and Douanier Rousseau too, and some bronzes of François Pompon (lot 49), José Maria David and Henry Moore.

The next day, the Contemporary Art department will present 39 lots, carefully selected to offer an exceptional panorama of the work of the post-war and contemporary artists, like Georges Mathieu, Sol Lewitt, Niki St Phalle, Keith Haring… and a bronze by Alexander Calder, an oil on canvas by Theodoros Stamos, another by Michael Borremans, a silkscreen and a polymer painting by Andy Warhol, and a gouache on paper by Hans Hofmann.

Finally, this prestigious time will be closed by the traditional fine wines and spirits‘ auction, on 29 June, elaborated with care by our department, currently in the spotlight on France 5.
