Jeunes marchands

From 8 to 10 September, l’Espace Tajan proposed the first « Les Jeunes Marchands chez Tajan » event. During this new and innovative art fair of three days, fourty young antiquarians and art dealers aged between 20 and 40 presented different types of objects like ancient, modern, contemporary paintings, drawings, 18th, 19th and 20th century furniture, design, comics, primitive art…

This new kind of event gave the possibility to discover the dealers art job and to show that it is easy to live with affordable art objects and buy them at low price. Among exhibitors, Anastasia Hirt chose a lamp by Gallé, Alexis Allegro proposed a silver centerpiece by André Auroc, Baptiste Jamez showed a cabriolet armchair Louis XV stamped by Etienne Meunier, Jasper Maison chose tree armchairs Big Tulip by Pierre Paulin, and Axelle Gaultier de Cerville exposed a “Cerf debout” by Antoine Bayre.

The event was held under the Art Deco window of Espace Tajan sublimated by Maison Pierre Frey wallpapers, official partner in the fair. Two young talents of The Decorative Art High School, Anne-Victoire Soury and Marion Dossikian, set up the new original scenography.

Finally, during the weekend some conferences took place, one of them given by Mme Véronique de la Houge, chief curator at the Museum of Decorative arts and curator on the exhibition « Faire le mur. Quatre siècles de papiers peints ».
