The 19 November auction was a great success, reflecting collectors’ continued interest in iconic pieces of 20th-century design. Among the most notable lots, a Paul Dupré-Lafon armchair from the artist’s personal collection reached €78,700*, while Jean-Michel Frank’s parchment-clad ‘Bloc’ lamp base soared to €99,700*.
An elegant glass bottle signed Maurice Marinot sold for €42,000*, and a stained oak desk by Jean-Charles Moreux was auctioned for €36,700*. The chryselephantine sculpture Danseuse orientale by Affortunato Gori also generated enthusiasm, achieving €36,000*. Finally, the planter by Hector Guimard, a major figure of Art Nouveau, concluded this fine series with a hammer price of €14,600*.
